Those who wish to develop their natural wellbeing and relieve stress and tension may find yoga a useful route. Yoga is taught by yoga teachers trained with the British Wheel of Yoga.

People may be taught in a yoga class or individually one to one.

Yoga may help with many issues and can be appropriate for a wide range of ages and lifestyles as well as those looking for a healthier way of life.

Through attending a regular yoga class the participant may, for example, become more aware of posture and breathing. She/he may also find regular practice can help to promote relaxation, aid sleep and relieve tension; it may help to contribute to an increased sense of wellbeing and a positive mood.

Before the start of the class, the yoga teacher will take a medical history and contact details. As the classes are relatively small, it gives the opportunity for the yoga teacher to observe the body, posture, simple movements and the breath. Yoga is about the whole person.

Each class will be part of a planned course, to ensure continuity and development.

If seeing a practitioner one to one, the yoga teacher will tailor each session according to the needs of the individual. Practices may include one or more of a range of techniques such as posture work, breathing, relaxation, working with sound, reflection, and/or meditation. It is usual to attend a number of sessions to confirm safe and appropriate practice.
