Mindfulness for Well-Being

Mindfulness empowers individuals to make more positive choices regarding their work, how they interact with others, their lifestyle and well-being.

We offer a range of options so that you have a choice of mindfulness programmes. You can choose between  half day or  full day mindfulness workshops, or the full 8 week mindfulness-based stress reduction programme, either at our own venue at York House in Taunton or on-site.

Our workshops are designed to teach organisations how mindfulness practices, activities and techniques can help to change the brain, thereby enhancing resilience by enabling people to more quickly renew themselves. This works by developing self-awareness and an empathic understanding of others as well as raising emotional intelligence. We provide the hands-on tools and advice necessary to implement lasting change by combining teaching, research and the neuroscience alongside experiential learning. Participants can then facilitate mindfulness intentionally into their work, creating profound benefits for the individual and the organisation.

One day Mindfulness Taster Workshop

This day has been designed to introduce the concept of mindfulness to participants. It combines teaching with experiential learning- the only way to really understand the power of mindfulness is to practice it. We offer foundational practices, advice on how to incorporate it beneficially into daily life and specific techniques to use at home and work. At the end of the day participants will be equipped with the knowledge of how to introduce small changes with mindfulness to make big changes to their levels of happiness, relationships, health and sense of well-being.

8 week Mindfulness –Based Stress Reduction Programme

Our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is based on the programme developed by the originator Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Structure and content of the 8 week class:

The course runs weekly for 8 consecutive weeks, for 2 hours per session.

Over the 8 weeks we explore a variety of topics including:

  • Our physiological responses to stress
  • Patterns of thoughts and behaviour relevant to stress management
  • How to use mindfulness activities as stress management techniques
  • How to integrate mindfulness into work and daily living, creating positive new habits
  • A simplified understanding of the neuroscience that explains why mindfulness is effective for stress reduction. How our brains work is why mindfulness works.

There is ample opportunity to discuss your experiences and progress throughout.
MBSR programme will be facilitated by two teachers.

All the practice CD’s and handouts will be provided as part of the package. We are also able to bring all the necessary equipment to facilitate the course.
